The best demo video tools for SaaS

There is no single best demo video tool for SaaS — there are three different jobs. Record it yourself (Loom, Synthesia, HeyGen). Let prospects click through it (Arcade, Storylane, Supademo). Or have it generated and re-generated from your live app automatically (Arcade, Redemo). Pick the job first; the tool follows.

We make one of these tools

This guide is published by Redemo, and Redemo is entry number seven. So here is the deal we will hold to: no rankings, no scores, no "winner". Every tool is described by what its maker says it is designed to do, with a link to the source. Where another tool is the better answer, this page says so plainly — there are four such cases below, and a list of six situations where you should not choose us at all.

Redemo is a young product. You will find no logos, testimonials or badges anywhere on this site — when that changes, this paragraph changes.

Step one

Choose the job, not the logo

Almost every bad tool decision in this category is a category error: buying an interactive demo platform when what the team needed was a video, or vice versa. These three jobs are genuinely different.

  1. Record it yourself

    human presses record

You or a PMM narrate a walkthrough live. Fastest path to a first video, and the most personal. Ages the moment the UI moves.

    Loom · Synthesia · HeyGen

  2. Let the prospect click through it

    interactive · self-paced

A click-through replica of your product, embedded on a landing page or sent after a call. Trackable, personalizable — but it is a widget, not a video.

    Arcade · Storylane · Supademo

  3. Have it generated from the live app

    pipeline owns the asset

Software captures your real product and assembles the video, then refreshes it as the product changes. Least manual work, least control over each frame.

    Arcade · Redemo

The tools

Seven options, described by what they are built for

Grouped by job, alphabetical within each group. This is not a ranking and the order means nothing.

Loom

Record it yourself

Best for — The fastest honest walkthrough, and async video messaging across a team.

Screen and camera recording via Chrome extension, desktop and mobile, now part of Atlassian. Transcriptions and captions in 50+ languages, trimming and stitching, 100+ integrations, AI workflows that turn a recording into documentation, and AI bug reports that open populated Jira items.

Look elsewhere if — You need the demo to stay accurate without someone re-recording it every release.

Synthesia

Record it yourself

Best for — Video as a content operation: training, compliance, enablement, many languages.

An AI video platform for business. 240+ avatars, 1000+ voices, 160+ languages, one-click translation with lip-sync, and generation from scripts, documents, PDFs, slide decks or a URL. Its AI Screen Recorder captures your screen in one take, then transcribes it, removes filler words and splits it into editable scenes.

Look elsewhere if — The centre of your video is a live product UI that changes weekly.

HeyGen

Record it yourself

Best for — When the presenter is the point — a cloned founder or rep, at volume, in many languages.

AI avatar video from text, image or audio, with avatar cloning (identity verification required) and voice cloning. Translation into 175+ languages with lip-sync. AI Studio gives script, gesture and tone direction. A separate screen recorder captures screen, webcam and mic.

Look elsewhere if — You want product footage captured without anyone sitting down to record it.

Arcade

Click through · generated

Best for — The broadest single tool: interactive demos and AI video, kept up to date automatically.

Capture flows with a browser extension or desktop app, or import from Figma. Build interactive demos with branching, callouts, hotspots and chapters, generate on-brand AI video from prompts and captured demos, and export MP4 or GIF on paid plans. Its Auto-update Agent (shipped December 2025) logs in, re-captures a flow when the UI changes and submits an updated version for human review.

Look elsewhere if — You specifically want a narrated video file that your CI pipeline regenerates on command.

Storylane

Click through

Best for — The sales motion — demos AEs send, personalize and track.

Chrome extension capture for screenshot (static) and HTML/CSS (responsive) demos, plus Mac and Windows apps, a Figma plugin. Sandbox demos for live calls, Hubs for follow-up, persona personalization, engagement analytics, AI sales agents, and integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo and Slack. MP4 and GIF export, which is no longer interactive.

Look elsewhere if — Your primary asset is a video for a homepage, an ad or a launch post.

Supademo

Click through

Best for — Interactive breadth across marketing, onboarding and support content.

Several capture routes: interactive demo recorder, screen recorder, HTML demo builder, Figma import and screenshots. Branching logic, audience personalization, AI voiceovers with cloning on higher plans, AI demo agents, and export to GIF, MP4 and PDF.

Look elsewhere if — You want capture to be fully hands-off and triggered by your release pipeline.

Redemo

Generated from the live app

our product · live now

Best for — A demo video treated as a build artifact, on a product that ships constantly.

You give a URL, demo-account credentials and a 90-second script. A headless browser (Playwright) logs in and films your real app scene by scene, then an AI presenter and voice-over are composited over that footage with automatic subtitles. Request updates from your account or release pipeline, then approve the new cut before publication. Approved final videos are 1080p MP4s you can download and self-host.

Look elsewhere if — You need interactivity, many languages, or a product that is not a reachable web app.

Decide in 60 seconds

Find your sentence, take the answer

You need a demo on your homepage this week.
Loom if you are happy to narrate it, Arcade or Supademo if you want it polished without a studio.
Prospects keep asking to "play with it" before a call.
Storylane or Supademo. An interactive demo is the right artifact; a video is not.
You ship weekly and every demo is a release behind.
Redemo, or Arcade if its announced Auto-update Agent ships as described. Both re-capture your product; Arcade refreshes demo experiences, Redemo re-renders a narrated video file.
You need the same demo in twelve languages.
Synthesia or HeyGen. Translation with lip-sync is their core strength and nobody else here is close.
Your AEs need to send personalized, tracked demos to named accounts.
Storylane, with its Hubs, personalization and CRM integrations.
You want the founder on camera, in every market.
HeyGen. Avatar and voice cloning is exactly the job.

Where Redemo is the wrong choice

Six situations where you should pick something else

Promised in the disclosure, so here it is in full.

  • You need interactivity. Redemo produces a video; nobody clicks through it.

  • You need languages beyond US and UK English today. Synthesia and HeyGen are far ahead here and we are not pretending otherwise.

  • Your product is desktop-only, or no demo account is reachable over the internet — the headless browser has nothing to drive.

  • You cannot create a dedicated demo or staging account. We will not point the pipeline at production admin.

  • Your UI barely changes. Automatic re-filming is the entire value; without it a one-off recording is cheaper and better.

  • You need enterprise procurement, an SLA or a security questionnaire answered today. Redemo is a young product and does not offer those yet.

If none of those apply and your demo is permanently one release behind, that is the case we built Redemo for. The two deeper comparisons: Redemo vs Synthesia and HeyGen · Redemo vs Arcade and Storylane.
